As a second-time mother, our story teller expected the usual challenges, but when she returned home with her newborn, she felt an overwhelming sense of dread and sadness, despite having a healthy baby. Struggling with isolation and anxiety, she found it difficult to communicate her feelings to her husband, who held traditional beliefs about household roles, and she began to lose interest in everything she once enjoyed, feeling completely disconnected from herself.
